MY NAME IS PETER BLUM.
I AM A RESEARCHER, EDUCATOR, AND PH.D. STUDENT
My research interests have allowed me to investigate a variety of topics ranging from interactions of methylmercury producing microbes to non-biting midge ecology. Currently, I am investigating the transfer of organic pollutants from emergent aquatic insects to terrestrial ecosystems, and the ecological outcomes of non-biting midge (chironomid) larvae from feeding on nuisance algae. Before I came to Tennessee Technological University, I was a Biology Lecturer at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. As a lecturer, I sought to instill an appreciation for biological diversity, while incorporating research skills and scientific communication.
